I was up at 0515, but I was awake long before that. The reasons are not worth mentioning, but with luck, I will sleep well tonight.
The mocking birds here are not as vocal as in other places. Once in a while, I’ll hear a sound like a back-up alarm on a utility truck, but when I look to see what it’s doing, there is nothing there. Just a bird on a branch.
Tom does a pretty good impression of a hawk call when he wants other birds to get away from the feeder.
