She stood out there in the night, it was eerily quiet as she studied the stars. She was looking for the right one, it was actually pretty dim because another star, a closer one, was too close.
There it is. Right where it always was.
She heard the grass behind her rustle as grass-cushioned footsteps approached. She could also tell it was an adult, and she knew who that would be.
“Majoris Arctanis Crucible I believe?” his lightly deep voice said, with a hint of humor.
She nodded without looking back at her favorite teacher.
“That’s where your father was stationed” he said, not a question.
She looked determined and dead serious as she said “I’m going to find him and I am going to bring him back”
The elder teacher crossed his arms, both of him looking at the star in silence for a good long moment. It would not be easy for anyone to go there undetected, find a person and get them back. That was enemy-controlled territory now.
“You can’t do it alone” he muttered
“I won’t have to” she told him and he nodded. Her whole circle of friends and fellow cadets would stick up for each other. “Nothing can stop me” she said, then turned smartly and walked back into the barracks.
Cool.
Typso?
