My veterinarian* says Zoe and Prozac, the two cats who allow the Scoutmaster household to cater to their respective whims, are filled with the same internal cat-stuff shown in the posters on the walls of the examining rooms of her offices. Apparently, neither is filled with Great Northern beans (although it makes a good story, so I'm not abandoning the possibility entirely at this juncture; further research is warranted and I shall pursue a government-funded program of the same).
*Not my veterinarian, per se. The vet I have chosen to meet the medical needs of the dogs and cats I own, which is how I'll describe the relationship until, in the eyes of many, become more enlightened as to moral failures of species-ism.
