Nsture, red in tooth and claw.

If you had outdoor cats, they would go after both the chipmunks and the robins.

Nature is unforgiving because of necessity. The strong of every species survives to pass on the genes to the next generation.

I know.

But we never let our cats outside. They have to be content with open
but screened-in doors and windows. They seem to be fine with that.

The only cat I ever let outside was my late Rocket. I always went
with him, and NEVER let him out by himself.

He was smart enough to stay near me and away from the street, and
to come back when I called him if he strayed too far from me.

When he was done, he would walk over to the man door at the side
of the garage and stare at the doorknob until I let him in the garage.

From there, he would stare at the doorknob of the entry to the house.
Cat was a genius. Wish he hadn't passed of renal failure. Miss him.
