As a sidenote while taking my one and only hang gliding lesson way back when, one young lady revealed she was a scientific illustrator at the SI. As an SI fiend I was hooked. Asked what her current project was, she replied, “I’m drawing moth balls.” After some chuckles she explained not the closet variety, but actual moth wedding tackle.
