I just re-joined FR and I would like to post to my local NC state board but I am not able to. How do I get the ability to do that?

You might look into getting one of these so you can keep writing if the power goes out.

Morning, folks. Headed for the beach in a minute. Sounds like it’s going to rain on Bill soon. We sure need it in Charlotte.

I walked a mile this morning, trying to help my body rid itself of the toxins involved in my situation.

It is just a small step towards coping. In a bit, I will get some paperwork done, mostly because it has to be and partly because it will help my mind focus on something besides me.

A noble effort is being made. Don’t know about the success, but I’m trying, anyway. Many more sleepless nights and I will need actual therapy to deal with this.

Poor little guy. Dang that dog owner. I’m sending love and prayers for the recovery of Jack and the correct diagnosis for his dad, asking the Comforter to wrap his arms around you and your entire family to get thorough the trials ahead.

Kids tend to do OK, depending on the parents’ attitude. I have a nephew who was born with thumb and forefinger separated properly, but all other 3 digits fused. This was true of all 4 limbs.

My S-I-L went the poor baby route and tried to protect him from even knowing he had problems. Lots of surgeries, etc. I would have taught him that things happen and he can do whatever he wants to do.

He still seems to have turned out OK, although I’m sure he was teased when he was young.

Kids are naturally resilient, so I think he will adjust better than his parents, providing they encourage him to do so.

Jack was back in the hospital last night. His lip is infected. He was given meds and an IV.

So sorry to hear that. I was up half the night praying for Jack, and hope it helps.

Why don’t you start a thread for Jack, post that picture of him with his stitches, and perhaps one before the attack. All FReepers would pray for his full recovery. He’s going to need more surgery, perhaps a lot more. Ongoing prayers seem called for.

Hope he’s keeping his spirits up……It’s very traumatic for anyone to have their face mutilated, especially a growing boy…..I forget or perhaps don’t know how old he is….

God bless…..

I am so sorry to hear that. Animal bites are always nasty. Hopefully he will respond well to the treatment.

My daughter was the same age when she was bit by our ex neighbors dog. She looked similar to Jack but also with a ripped ear. The parents were mortified as the dog had never bit, was old and they did put the dog down. They also offered to pay for a plastic surgeon. He was their friend, an excellent PS but in the end she healed beautifully without. She has a tiny scar on her cheek. What looked absolutely horrendous at the time (esp with her entire face swelled, dried blood and stitches, turned out fine.
On another note....very next day a friend of ours, not knowing what happened the day before) came over with their new dog and my daughter went right up to it with no fear. She’s 27, absolutely gorgeous and no fear of dogs.

Think positive! Kids heal quickly and sometimes with no bad scars. Prayers up for Jack!
