I just re-joined FR and I would like to post to my local NC state board but I am not able to. How do I get the ability to do that?

"I'm doing some typing for church. Maybe I'll ask later. Enjoy your beers."

Two Angels

I have two angels sitting here, conversing through my ears.
One seems to think angelic thoughts, and one enjoys his beers.
So I am torn in listening, to muses on each side.
Which way I go when writing seems to be who’s last to chide.

I might receive a message which is clearly Heaven-sent,
Or I may respond to thoughts which have a lower bent.
I am no angel in my heart, though I do try my best.
I’m just repeating things received to get them off my chest.

And whether they are good or bad seems like the time of day,
My angels work in shifts to tell me if I pray or play.
I may express a thought you know an angel wouldn’t touch,
Or I could state a truth that you agree with very much.

Whichever way it comes to me, I let it turn my ear,
But I don’t always consider well the worth of what I hear.
I give them equal witness, for my soul’s a battleground,
For those who will be judging me, my worth is to be found.

I didn’t understand a word of that, except, “I wish computers and cell phones and what not didn’t upgrade so frequently.”

I sent another story off as a submission for an anthology, that makes 2 and there are 2 out as submissions to magazines. I have another one going to be sent to an unpaid anthology and I have started collecting my other short stories for an eventual e-book collection. I don’t have enough of them to justify doing that yet, though.

I also noticed the number of unfinished stories I have is... a LOT.

It looks like morning here at FR. I didn’t go after the beer, yesterday. I was watching a biography of Johnny Carson, and it was too interesting to leave.

Right now, I’m going to put my shoes on and go get a bottle of magnesium. That is, after I comb my hair. I look like the Wreck of the Hesperus.

And feel like I’ve been run over with a hay rake.

It is morning. I’m heading out to the gym with a bunch of people who don’t want to go, but oh well.

What do you mean this ISN’T my bed? Who made YOU the arbiter of what bed belongs to whom?

If you had been run over by a hay rake then, whatever else might be wrong, your hair would be perfectly combed.

Kitteh looks a lot like our late Muffin, our second cat.

The tiny kitteh got named before we found out he was a guy.

He died June 27, 1997, in our living room, by euthanasia because
he had chronic renal failure, was 15 years old, and very ill and
suffering. Our vet came to our home to do the deed. Muff was then
cremated, and when we got his ashes, our first cat, Tiger, went
and kissed (marked) the little cedar box. She knew who was in it.

Bryan and I cried for days. He was a humdinger, and he loved to
fetch. When he was around, all the crickets disappeared because
he ate them all. He was loving and affectionate, and he came when
called, a deficiency in the cats we currently serve. He "painted"
too. I have a picture of the artist with his work.

Madman Muffin! RIP, best kitty ever.

Great tagline! LOL!

I’m back from Walmart where I spent the last of the Mom’s Day/BD gift card on a bottle of magnesium.

When I got back, my laptop was dead. I had to re-boot and now I’m thinking this piece of slop will have to be replaced. I will transfer everything to the slave and wipe the hard drive and take it back where I got it. I suspect it will be this week. Next week at the longest.

I’ve never been so frustrated by a piece of equipment in my entire life. This has been the WORST computer I’ve ever had the displeasure to fight with in 25 years. </rant

You’re not supposed to make me cry first thing in the morning, TOL. *snif-snif*

The artwork by Muff was really quite stuning.

That does look rather Darkshearean, doesn’t it. All critters drawn to the bizarre light and menacing presence on the patio...one following another, just like sheep... er....
