Apple can’t tap the power grid without feeling guilty about it.

Hey, I’ll take my power from wherever I can get it. Coal, Nuke, Oil, Hydro, Solar.

I’m all for diversity. I can’t understand why all those lefties are so racist against black coal, and black gold.

And I’m the racist. Sheesh!

Personally I would love to have a home that generated it's own power so that I did not have to tap into the grid. What's wrong with that? I thought it was a conservative trait to be self-sufficient and not reliant on others?

Many of us here brag about our ability to live off the land and store up enough canned peas and ham to feed our grandkids who haven't even been born yet so that we don't have to rely on the "gub'mint" to bail us out in case of a natural disaster.

Yet when companies like Apple take steps to be self-reliant and not be a drain on resources, we call them leftists?

Don't allow your hatred for left-wing enviro-wacko groups like Greenpeace to condemn environmentalism as a whole. It is natural for conservatives to want to take steps to protect our environment and discover cleaner sources of energy. The difference between conservatives and liberals on this point is that conservatives do not expect big government or the United Nations to take the lead on this. Instead, we believe that the private sector, acting in its own self-interest, will achieve a cleaner planet much more efficiently then any government entity can.

With regard to being environmentally responsible, we should not cede that ground to liberals and allow them to have a monopoly on the discussion.

Hey! If they can power that humongous thing without tapping into the grid ... “more power to them”.

AND that makes them impervious to any “takedown” of the power grid. More facilities should be INDEPENDENT. That would diffuse any threat to the grid!
