The C and F scales meet at -40. Each step of 1C is the equivalent of a step of 1.8F. They’re talking about -50C, or -58F before “optional” cancellation of classes.
Obviously they have a more robust idea of what winter garb is than we USA wimps who call it off at a balmy 0F.

How do people even feed themselves and stay warm in these kinds of temperatures, much less get on a bus and go to school. I’m surprised anything mechanical works.
