I don’t know if he’s a racist but I do know he is a s**tty actor.
Director John Huston wouldn’t hire him for a movie and said, “If I needed an actor playing somebody who was dying of AIDS, I’d cast him.”
I never liked him until I saw Open Range. He and Duval are both great in it (and Costner directed it). Maybe my all time favorite western.
Hatfields and McCoys was good too.
How can you say that?!?
He does a marvelous job of going into character as himself.
No one can portray him the way he does.
Costner can do the "Costner Pensive Stare" like no one else, even though many have tried. (They have tried, haven't they?)
Not sure why you say that. I think he is a great actor. Interesting that he would admit such a thing. My guess is he gets a pass though.
There are a lot of 'actor's' who made a career of basically playing the same guy in almost all their movies:
John Wayne
Clint Eastwood
Liam Neeson
Harrison Ford
Are all names that come to mind. Does that mean they are bad actors? I don't know, but I enjoy all of them within the limited range of the roles that they play.
Come on, be fair. He plays a bored and clueless Kevin Costner to perfection.
