Formerly the "Fans of Quinn and Rose Discussion" thread. We still hold out hope that our favorite talk show hosts will come back on the air - and all indications are that they will be, very soon! As we wait, our friendly group will still meet to start the day. So if you are preparing to go to work, are getting home from work - or happily retired - stop in and say mornin' and share the latest news, discuss the weather, share a recipe, or whatever!
Starting early gang. Going to bed to dream of summer.....
Thanks for posting GB! My computer is still out of commission. Looks like I’m going to have to send it out for repairs! :-(
Yes, I’m longing for summer too......
Sneaks
Good morning!
Interesting post on the Voy forums Pittsburgh radio and television discussion.
Have we heard the last of Jim Quinn? — Lou, 03:29:53 01/29/15 Thu [1]
It’s been a year and two months since he left the air on WPGB. All the non-compete issues are off the table. He said he turned down a chance to join WJAS in August because he wouldn’t be able to stream the show.
Will there be another spot for Quinn on the Pittsburgh airwaves? Or is his 6-decade career in Pittsburgh radio (KQV, 13Q, WTAE, B94, BOB, WPGB) finally over?
Check it out here:
No replies as of early morning on 1/30. Maybe something will show by the time we usually meet.
Wasn’t Lou the name of Jim’s fish market guy who was always on him about the Steelers?

McCord waited to resign until after Wolf was in Office PLUS why wasn't this public BEFORE the election?
Hmmmm....
From the PG...No surprise but still disgusting.
Gov. Wolf bans new leases for drilling on state lands
Gov. Tom Wolf banned new oil and gas leases in state parks and forests on Thursday, officially ending plans by the Legislature and the previous administration to raise millions of dollars for the budget this fiscal year through new drilling deals.
In signing the executive order at a ceremony at Benjamin Rush State Park in Philadelphia, Mr. Wolf said natural gas development is a vital element of the states economy, but he made an economic case for preserving the states public natural resources as well.
This is about striking the right balance, he said. Our state parks and forests are unique assets that should be preserved, protected and utilized by our residents for recreational purposes.
Mr. Wolfs order is similar to a ban on new oil and gas leases in state parks and forests that Democratic former Gov. Ed Rendell put in place in October 2010 after the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources issued leases for Marcellus Shale gas development on nearly 140,000 acres of state forests during his tenure.
Quinn up and tweeting this morning.
Yes, very suspicious.
Just the first of long 4 years of leftist actions that Governor Hippie will be taking.
Let’s hope the purportedly more conservative GOP Legislature will slap his administration down at every turn. Hopefully, there will be better success overcoming the Philly area RINOs (yet another reason to for everything west of the Susquehanna to secede)
