A friend of mine in the Army told me of coming home from college to find that his folks had given all their worldly possessions to Jim & Tammy Faye, including the house. They had moved to Jim & Tammy Faye’s compound of followers without telling my friend. At the time we were in the Army, my friend was still estranged from his parents.

At that time, around 1979, it was the weirdest thing I’d ever heard. Upon returning to the states, I found out it was more common than you might have thought.

I know this sounds strange but I had Tammy and Jim Baker pegged as shysters back in the 1970s. How do you convince a mother-in-law of it when she thought they hung the moon.

I will give Jim a nudge of respect as he did not allow Larry Flint of Hustler Magazine a forum on his show after Flint’s socalled conversion to Christianity.

After Flint was shot he became a very vile creature even worse than before.
