Background:
Hollywood executives have chosen to release the film version of the "erotic" novel 50 Shades of Grey in theaters this Valentine's Day - Feb. 14, 2015.
While the marketing campaign is selling the movie as a "romance," there is nothing authentically romantic about the tale of a sado-masochistic sexual relationship between a young, vulnerable student, Anastasia, and an older billionaire, Christian Grey.
Critics have described the book as misogynistic, pornographic, exploitative, sexually violent, and anti-romance and there is little reason to expect the film will be anything different.
Opposition to the book and movie crosses the ideological spectrum, with many feminists expressing grave concerns about the messages the book is sending to young men and women. One post on the leading feminist website Jezebel slammed the book (and by extension, the movie) as "50 Shades of Abuse."
Marketing for the film is already in full swing, and little concern is being given to the influence that the positive and pornographic portrayal of sadism is having on teenagers and others.
While undoubtedly many people will flock to see the film what it is released, there is a growing movement opposing both the films and the book.
This upcoming Valentines Day, join this movement by pledging to take stand for true love and true romance. Together, let's make 50 Shades the worst box-office flop in history.

ROFL! Thanks for posting that link. Almost as good as his description of getting a colonoscopy,
I did not defied his books and was talking about the 50 shades books, and they were all best sellers. I simply told the truth, Do you have problems with provable truth?????
Yes-I have that whole series to date-Empty Throne is the latest one, and I like the series very much-I like Cornwell’s books anyway, but Uhtred, the lead character/narrator in the series has a dry sense of humor and a view of human nature that could make a liberal laugh...
JC Penny was always low-end stuff. Wal-Mart is even lower.
Wal-Mart has destroyed more retailers than any store before it, but in a free society that can happen. It’s astounding how much wealth exists across the Walton family.
The fact that they do food drives for their own employees always struck me as an embarrassment. That and their employees who are on Medicaid. I find that difficult to believe but i have read that.
Thank you. I believe I’ll put those books on my reading list.
The books that this is all based on was written by a woman as well...
Exactly. JC Penney just sucks. From management to the quality of the product.
