Thanks, great post!
I love film, but for financial reasons have turned away from it.
I deeply regret shooting with the inferior D40 for so long.
I put 100 or so cycles through a D5100 before it gave out.
I adore the D200 - and its ten years old with 5K cycles.
Love?
It reminds me of my OM10 and FE... My favorite cameras.
No, its not about the camera,
but we have lost something in this digital age.
Somehow the equipment once inspired us to greatness in framing composition contrast and light...
Now it encourages us to shoot anything, anywhere, and to neglect our own experience for the sake of record-keeping.
The feeling I got when I first touched an F... That the camera was worthy of my best... That was a materialistic but very real inspiration.
Skip the video, and click on ‘WWII’ above the video. You’ll get a manual-advance slideshow. It’s what I did, and was able to look as long as I wished; skip back, etc.
Beautiful, all considered.
While browsing them, I saw several that had vehicles with an odd (to me) insignia on them, like a dark ‘Y’ or 3-bladed prop, inside a light shield.
After Googling & scrolling a lot, I think it is an emblem for the 108th Quartermaster Regiment. I would love for some knowledgeable FReeper to either confirm or correct that ID, as it would shed light on where those were snapped.
thanks for the tip

I left too....
If you find out let us know.
The graphic designer in me is saying, “Man, there are some cool album covers waiting to be made out of some of these!”
