Well, they were never my thing, but it’s got to be a big thrill for the Deadheads to see their musical heroes for one last tour.
Myself, I’m more excited about Alice in Chains playing the NFC championship halftime ceremony. Wish Layne was still alive to play it with the guys.

That would really be the only reason to watch the game.

Myself, Im more excited about Alice in Chains playing the NFC championship halftime ceremony. Now THAT should be the Super Bowl halftime show. But they are going with generic pop crap Katie Perry.
I remember 11 years ago when Janet Jackson had her "wardrobe malfunction". Well, the night before that Super Bowl, Reliant Stadium hosted a huge jam session party where Toby Keith, Sammy Hagar, Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, Willie Nelson, Ted Nugent, and a bunch of other really big names all jammed together on stage. All I remember thinking was "How the hell was THAT not the Superbowl halftime show!!!"
NFL always makes the wrong decision that way.
Still, I'm glad AIC is playing this weekend.

Never a Dead fan, but I have to say, I caught the "Greatful Dead Movie" on FUSE or Pallidia one night, and you know what impressed me most? The interviews with the young teenage and twentysomething fans entering the concert. The year was 1974, and these young Deadheads, all of them looking every bit the part, were more polite and well spoken that most people you would find working in any corporation today. They all had great vocabularies and didn't stammer or "um" or "like" at all. I mean none of them! And they were all probably stoned too!! But they all spoke in complete sentences with coherent things to say.
What a difference a generation makes.
