FReeper techies question.
I got the Windows 7 start button moved to the right, any way to get the frickin menu to open on the right side without moving the taskbar to the right side?
see screenshots.
It's trivial,but it bugs me,and hey,I'm on vacation;)
My new laptop has Windows 8.1 I had to install a start button and classic desktop!
Save the image to your hard drive that he posted, using a graphics program, convert it to the necessary extension for windows backgrounds, which is usually a “*.bmp” depending upon your version of windows.
Move it to the correct folder within windows and change the current desktop image/background to the new image.
Voila!
See post # 22.
“Put the Windows 7 Start button where you want it
If that were true, I could make Obama squeal like a pig...
Install Classic Start Menu.
I’ve hated the Windows 7 menu. I got back the classic Windows 95/98/XP Start Menu by installing Classic Start Menu.
Its available on Sourceforge and its free.
That's a neat trick. How did you do that?
lots of free software out there, just found one that kinda matched the library.
Ah, ok. The combination is quite nice.
I know how to do that, thanks. But it would leave me with a clock that, to paraphrase the Mamas and Poppas, always says twelve-thirty.
Just give up. Fugeddaboudit, when it comes to Windows 7. Worst fraud ever perpetrated against the computing public.
Is that really your study/library? If so, I am impressed.
Are you someone from Downton Abbey?
You are still posting. Did you fix it?
I don’t like this. This is a computer-help thread and you’re getting helpful, positive answers. Are you sure this is FR?
Darn Microsoft:)

Writing this from Windows 10, Windows Technical Preview, Evaluation Copy, Build 9879.
I kind of like it. Real snappy on this old Dell Dimension 4700C slim desktop.
I think 8.1 can upgrade to this. XP needed a full install, but permits saving old files
There’s always a way, but I’m guessing you’d have to go into the code to change the default location of the Start Menu. It doesn’t appear to be something a user can change.
Well,I got the fricking Start Button moved to the right side of the taskbar,I don’t know code, but I’ll keep trying.
