“Manning needs to get a job sitting between Terry Bradshaw and Howie Long. He is MADE for that job...”

Either that or coaching.

“While Manning is one of my favorite QB’s in the game and has earned all the accolades he has received, it appears that Father Time has caught up with him.”

But damn he was fun to watch.....

"The only reason he hasn't retired so far is the lack of a Super Bowl win, but he now has the touchdown passing record to make up for it."

Manning won the Super Bowl in 2007 against the Bears.

Maybe Kubiack will come to Denver.

Maybe Manning should be player/coach.

Real sad end for the Broncos. Manning’s body just couldn’t go where his mind wanted it to. When the Sheriff gave out, everyone else did too. They fought long and hard and the wheels came off a little too soon. Hard to watch. Manning has a HUGE heart for the game. His body let him down.

You only have so many years to make it in the NFL. It’s just the way it is. We’re rebuilding now. Gonna be awhile before we have a great team again. Oh - and Elway has done a great job. The clock just ran out on Manning a bit too soon...sigh.

Fox won’t be unemployed for long if he so chooses. New York and Chicago immediately spring to mind.

With big changes coming to the Broncos lineup next year, I can see Manning deciding to retire.

You can't rebuild around a 38-year-old quarterback. Signing Manning was a move to 'win now'. The Broncos subsequently won a lot of games but not the Super Bowl. It's a tall order to win the Super Bowl (just ask Dan Marino or Boomer Esiason or Warren Moon etc etc). So I don't consider the move a total failure. But if Manning goes, whom do the Broncos turn to at QB?

If 12-4 is considered not good enough then good luck finding a replacement to fill those gigantic shoes. Reminds me of how every Bama coach was expected to be as good as the Bear was. Didn’t work for years until Nick Satan came along.

Yup. Elway ditched Tebow and signed Manning because he didn't have the patience to develop a winning lineup. He gambled on buying one "ready made", and he lost his bet. The only thing he got for his money was notoriety.

Elway's right back where he was, pre-Manning, only now he's poorer and has egg on his face. I think he's going to blow a lot of cash and trade a lot of draft picks to secure another Manning. I don't think Elway has the patience to develop a team, let alone a quarterback.

12-4 Divisional winner with a bye week coming off a Super Bowl appearance and your starting QB had a strain quad, hmmm. Elway and Fox must have been good buddies

Well at least Manning got us as far as Tebow did.

Manning got you to the Super Bowl once and the playoffs twice. A whole lot more than Tebow did.

The Return of The King.

I think the Broncos would rather have a quarterback.

Manning should retire and coach Denver. His past injuries are showing, but he has a great instinct and knowledge of the game.

We watched him here in Indy for many years. We love the guy and we can tell he is not on top his game physically anymore.

What you said brings up an important point. That point is that team failure is always blamed on the quarterback most the time. Brady is very lucky to have a really good roster of team mates and coaches. It extends his life as a quarterback.

I believe Reggie has already said that this would be his final year. He is a great guy.

They should have grabbed Rex to set expecations sufficiently low.
