And thanks to the CD...and of course the magic of the CD, according to the story I heard but I'm not sure I believe, is that when Sony was developing it one of their execs was a part-time music conductor and insisted that the new CD format be at least long enough to contain a recording of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony on one disc - thus today they hold about ninety minutes of music or about what both sides of two LP's would hold - believe it or not.....
