We drove in Houston all day yesterday in the cold rain, temps in the 30s. We drove from the museum of natural science to Sprouts grocery store, about 15 miles, in terrible downpour in the dark, busy traffic. Then home about one hour drive to Lake Jackson Texas in the dark, pouring down rain. It was scary. But if it were icy I would stay HOME! We would have gotten a hotel if caught in it in Houston on icy roads. Simple plan.

But if it were icy I would stay HOME!

Back in the early 80's a pretty nasty ice storm hit HOU, and Ship Channel Bridge became an ice rink for several dozen cars Like I said earlier, we get this about every 40 years, and that is why I am glad I live in the south, or more specific, my part of the south.

Here in the North I've actually pulled off the road when the rain pours too hard to see well ahead. But then I am a defensive driver....I watch the other drivers as there are a enormous amount of bad drivers out there today.
