If a PFC cheated on his wife and then told his mistress classified information, he'd be in the brig. Some people are so enamored with people in position of power that they apply a different set of rules to them.
Screw that noise. There should be one set of standards in the US military. If you break the UCMJ you should be punished, regardless of your rank.

I believe you are right. Powerful people should be just as accountable (perhaps more so) than the less powerful. If the general passed on classified info...he needs to pay the price.

And yes, 'what is' really sucks.
But the real question is why are they (in particular the FBI and DOJ) going after him NOW ?
As you say, it should be a MILITARY ISSUE.
