Is this a sign of deflation and recession?
I was at the McDonalds and got a breakfast sandwich. With my receipt they give me a slickly put together 4" x 4" paper that says Big Mac and Quarter Pounder for $2 from January 12th to January 28th. Is Mickey Dee's clearing out stale hamburger inventory? Are they trying to drum up business? They always seem to hold the line on their two top selling hamburgers at $3.99. Now they are going for half price. For a limited time only of course
Canadian Bacon..... lol (essentially a bland cut of Ham)
Not a shot at you by any means. Being a guy from the South, there’s only ONE Bacon, and it AIN’T Canadian Bacon. lol
I guess I’m the odd man out. I like McDoubleburgers off the dollar menu with french fries, which are still good, IMO. Also like their side salads a lot, with Newman’s Own Lite Italian dressing. They stopped handing out croutons though. They are no more (cost cutting I’m sure). Also like their hot chocolate, the best of the fast food restaurants. And they have great chocolate chip or oatmeal cookies. It seems each fast food restaurant has its item or two that you like. Just keep moving between the restaurants and you are all right.
I guess someone must be eating them or they would go out of business. I sure don’t like them tho.
When I was in college, I made out like a bandit. I was on athletic scholarship, had a school job which paid for 6 hours per day and I only worked 2. Also ate at the training table.
Totally different story in grad school. I stayed broke. I discovered that I could eat at Wendy’s salad bar and literally stuff myself once a day for a dollar. They had all kinds of things including several kinds of meat to put on the salads.
I guess other people must have been doing the same thing as they dropped the salad not long after.
McDonalds does all over with differing items. I was in one recently and the register
receipt gave by one get one free Quarter Pounder or Egg McMuffin. You have to go to
their website and give the info from the reciept and you get a code to use to purchase
the item you want.
They pick and choose their spots.
Less than 5 Guys price point times 8 quality.
I think BK is on their last leg here in Colorado.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++=
Agreed. BK used to be pretty good. The food went downhill, and the service went down the toilet. (Denver area observation)

I like Wendies also. Good fast food. Especially love their baked potatoes w/chives & sour cream. Mmm, mmm, good.
Wendies = Wendy’s. I’m tired.
They used to fry them in beef tallow.
In 1973 my wife and I had just married and I had taken a new job. I had to undergo 13 weeks of training in Dallas.
We rented an apartment near Turtle Creek. It was an area just beginning to change from an old upper middle class community to more of a hippy and druggie themed area.
We ate at a new restaurant we had never heard of. Wendy’s. The hamburgers were the best we ever had eaten but we got to noticing that their clientele seemed to run heavily to the Gay types.
We kept eating there because it was so good. It was maybe a year later that we learned it was a chain and not a gay hamburger joint.
Another nice thing about McDonald’s: they have a big picnic-table-style seating area in the front where people can just hang out. Some have poor heat and go there to stay warm. There are signs on the wall saying no loitering, 30 minutes only etc., but I think they don’t enforce it unless it’s really crowded.
is that the one in Downey?
some pimply faced 14 year old is going to tell you to move?
Is that butter dripping from the cheese? ROFLMBO!!! Between that Whataburger and your image I am getting hungry! Those are some greasy perfect burgers!
Burger King’s Whopper is so much better a sandwich than is the big Mac....not even close!!!
I don’t think they tell people to move. Probably if it got too crowded someone would just shout a general announcement so as not to ask individual people to leave. They are nice folks (staff and customers both).
We used to take the 5 kids in the 60s and we’d all have a hamburger,fries,and a drink for 50 cents each.
Seven people for $3.50.
They didn’t have kids meals or toys in those days.

Funny story.
In and Out Burger is in many Southwestern States, not just California.
Are you a Five Guys fan? We have them here too come to think of it.
BTW - It did get down to the 50’s here at night. Brrrrrr...
Since they do not allow me to carry, I refuse to do business with them. BOYCOTT all anti 2nd A businesses.
