Because I can’t watch that with my baby chile around, I’ve only been able to see the first episode. It was AWESOME. Hoping to watch the second maybe tomorrow. I need to be alone to focus, no distractions. Vince Gilligan is so detail oriented. He puts out such intelligent shows. I think Breaking Bad is the only series that told the perfect story from beginning to end, no filler, nothing to distract from the plot. The title was perfect and the show had nothing extraneous. No one else has nailed it like that.
And my favorite character on breaking bad, as I always told my sons, was Saul. I felt he “chewed up the scenery” in a positive way every time he came on screen. He was underplayed and wickedly funny without trying. Not surprisingly he is a comedian. But he acted magnificently.
And now, the way they have him portrayed, younger, struggling, gibes perfectly with the characterizations he did for six years (or however many), making sense of how he got to be the way he was. If these shows were food they would be delicious.
