Jeffrey Epstein surrounded himself with famous people to mask what he was doing. He figured correctly that they would pressure the prosecutors to cover up the crimes for the most part.
This should put the kibosh on Trump running for President in 2016 (not that I think that he was likely to do so, even if from time to time he will hint that he might).
