As I expected, this article is not based on consulting vineyard owners or statistical analysis, but is based on the greenie fantasies of one jerk:

Perhaps she should consider recent new trends in grafting root stock, trellising, and the addition of sugar, done with Burgundies since they usually do not mature enough. New vinification techniques also come into play....on and on.
