I’d be prone to suspecting that Pinot Noir would just be grown further north if this were actually a truthful account. You know, like during the early Middle Ages when Greenland was named Greenland and vineyards were planted where glaciers are at present. But, it’s not a truthful account.

The Vikings called modern-day Newfoundland “Vinland” because of the abundance of grapes there.
