Just saw a couple of libs (one a defense lawyer) saying not arresting petty criminals is a good thing. I tried to follow their reasoning, but they lost me.
One of the three branches of socialism is anarchism:

According to the tenets of anarchism, the emancipation of the masses is impossible until the individual is emancipated. Accordingly, its slogan is: "Everything for the individual."
Another branch of socialism is Marxism, in several ways the opposite of anarchism.
