My only concern for Trig, or any child, is that while their own dog may not bite, they still need to be taught that that is a no no in general. Step on a strange dog, might get nipped.

True, but I don’t think Trig was stepping on “a dog” per se - he was just doing what he does with HIS dog, his special companion.

Might...but it didn't happen. Why the concern? Did you step on a dog and get bit?

Perhaps you are fearful of more things than you oughta be and worry overmuch about the dire possibilities that might happen to someone sometime in their life...such as evading asteroids when they strike without warning.
