These people assume that the “normal” people have no personal crosses to bear. Or that they can’t be just as hard as whatever junk they are dealing with.

Normal people just don’t go parading it around expecting other people to high-five them for their weaknesses and foibles. Or demanding a whole pride month devoted to their problem.

There isn’t a single person on the face of the Earth that doesn’t struggle with a “dark side.” God gave us a brain, and the ability to reason, but did not tell us life would be easy, at least not after Adam and Eve blew that whole Garden of Eden thing. We pray for strength, and do our best live virtuous lives, but ultimately we all fail on some level. Should we acknowledge that a person is an adulterer, and criticise his/her spouse for not accepting, or honoring the act? How about the alcoholic? Maybe they should march in parades pronouncing their pride. Unfortunately, some will fail horribly at trying to overcome their problems, but that is not society’s fault. I know it sounds incredibly harsh, but everywhere in nature the weak, infirm, or inable are left to the predators so the herd can survive. We are not base animals, and we can do much to help the our weaker members, but we can’t do anything as long as we continue to insist day is night, just to placate the delusional.
