That's just it--you have to stay out of what I call, "general population". Many colleges now offer "honors colleges" and they have special dorms, special eating facilities, etc. where you are kept with the upper echelon and more serious students.

Just like high school, keep 'em away from general population, bell curve types.

It was simpler for me. I had two paths: graduate in 4 years and go in the Army as a 2nd Lt, or not graduate in 4 years and go in the Army as a Spec 4.
