Bottom line, never carry a Glock in anything that wasn’t designed specifically for a Glock pistol. Glock designed and marketed holsters completely enclose and protect the trigger and the trigger can’t be pulled as long as it’s in the holster, so the holster is, in effect, the only safety the pistol has. The pistol can’t be fired as long as it’s in its holster, so removing it from the holster is taking it off safety and returning it to its holster is putting it back on safe.

Spot on. The properly-designed holster is the Glock's safety. DO NOT carry a Glock without a properly designed holster.

This is fairly well known today, but back in 1989 when I was first issued a Glock 17 and required to carry it, none of us had a good understanding of how unsafe that pistol is.

We learned the hard way.
