Angelina may have learned a lot about directing from Clint Eastwood. I think she was cast in one of his films about a female boxer many years ago.
And the idiotic movie I endured for two hours, like a bad “Interview”, is doing only $1 millionish so far.
Streep is almost overexposed these days, and tends to play the same sort of character, from what I can discern through the previews. Overexposed, the way Vanessa Redgrave used to be relied upon for almost every “Ladies With Hats” Period Piece in British Theatre.
I heard Jolie deleted the religious parts from the book. Is this true?
Nevertheless, I want to see Into the Woods and not the other one. Steven Sondheim wrote it, he’s as clever as they come.
Very entertaining. I met Joanna Gleason from the original Broadway cast years ago — her husband was a colleague of mine. She does a terrific job as The Baker’s Wife.
I find this number from the B’way show utterly charming — tho not everyone here will agree:

When the studios, producers and directors that cast Streep so often quit casting Streep, I might go so some of their movies.
My wife and I talked about the book at Christmas dinner. We agreed that it should be required reading by all high school students. It might give them a sense of the hardships that others before us had to go through to keep us free and to preserve the liberties we enjoy that many people take for granted.
It was even hard for me to imagine how this brave man, Louie Zamperini, persisted and endured through so many hardships and still survived. He had his dark times when he returned from the war, including becoming a heavy drinker, but found peace again when he accepted Jesus as his savior through Billy Graham revivals. He had outlived his entire family, including his wife, when he finally passed away in his 90's this past summer. I can't wait to see the movie.
If you ever think you're having an especially bad day, read this book and you will instead count your blessings at how well things are going in your life. Seriously.
Zamperini was scheduled to be the Grand Marshal for next week’s Rose Parade....very sorry he didn’t quite make it; the applause would have been something to see.
‘Into the Woods’ is one of the best live action movie musicals in years. It deserves an audience.
