I always click on these threads to read. It's great that folks want to be helpful, but...

I've learned over many years of troubleshooting aircraft avionics that understanding the problem is the most important step.

Example: If someone says that they can hear some sounds (win7 ding), but not others (YouTube), it's ridiculous to ask if the speakers are plugged in.

I had this problem awhile back, and it turned out the speaker cord was loose. But I could hear the Windows sounds.
