Well, I planted my Bonanza in a corn field taking off from Goodland KN, when my engine quit at 700 feet over the city. I had to turn down wind (25 Kt) to get to the field. Sharp left nose down turn, touched down at about 90 knots, gear & flaps up. No app would have helped. Just fly the plane. the engine quit because the T-1 mechanical fuel pump sheared a pin. Within the first 2 seconds a switched tanks and hit the boost. 20 seconds on the ground. Got help, a back hoe to lift plane, lowered wheels and got a police escort through town back to the airport.

My uncle`s Piper Cub quit right after takeoff. He glided it back but wasn`t gonna make the runway. The fields were furrowed for miles around. So he gently landed it on the top of a tall tree and climbed down.
