Maker's 46 bourbon, from the Maker's Mark people, finally hit the local market. Not earth shaking news, I know, but if anyone is a fan of good bourbon this has to be on the list. It's 94 proof but sips like half that, neat, and at room temperature. And, no, I don't have any financial interest, just wanted to share some good news with my buds.
I have a preference for Knob Creek and Rare Breed, but I definitely plan on trying this one.
Not everyone who imbibes is destined to become a raging alcoholic.
I’ve had Woodford Reserve. It’s good stuff.
Not familiar with Pogue, though. I’ll add it to the list.
I have watched an alcoholic go through withdrawal and am dealing with another alcoholic right now, who just is a non functioning human being.
He was sober for 7 months and literally jump off the wagon one night and has been on a roll for now going on 4 months.
Constantly scamming people for his partying.
I didn’t drink for a year, to be an example to him.
Didn’t make a bit of difference, as I expected but, wanted to demonstrate that a decision can be made.
He hasn’t been home but a couple of days and I sure would like to hear his scam pitch.
Dude has never worked in the 25 years I’ve known him, which kinduh makes sense since he spent 1/2 that time in jail for stupid things.
Still, he never wants to work so he can afford anything.
He really believes he can go on like this forever.
Moron knows everyone in Hollywood too and I’ve heard celebrity friends give him life talks about moving past this insane lifestyle that prevents him from ever doing anything in Hollywood.
His drinking has screwed up some amazing opportunities over and over again.
Idiot.
Me? I went had beers with friends during World Series and the occasional drinks with friends since.
Don’t drink December as a rule, so I can never be pulled over for DUI.
MM is beautiful. We got a little lost getting there because you are so far into the hills there was no cell service. Of all the distilleries we went to, MM was the only distiller still using wooden fermenters. During the tour, they encourage you to walk up, stick your finger in a taste the mash. Coupled with the sparrows flying around, my wife scratched Makers off her list!
Zactly and always a great way to end the evening.
Best response ever.
I must be a hybrid.
I like bourbon for its flavor and finish. I lean towards higher proof (was “raised” on Wild Turkey, after all) but do not snub a tasty bourbon of lesser proof. I also like Rye whiskey, single malt Scotch and some Irish whiskies; but I have no love at all for Canadians/Blends.
A number of years ago while in the city of Perm, Russia, my wife and i bought some truly excellent vodka at insanely low prices.
Yes.
That’s a very good choice.
If you have a bourbon ping list, I’d appreciate being added to it.
You know what? I like plain old regular Lays potato chips in the yellow bag. No ripples, no “flavors”, no frills - just a good chip that, in my opinion, is salted just about perfectly.
PS - I think Cripplecreek would be a good name for a bourbon.
Thanks for your link!

I have had their Pendleton 1910...and it was very nice.
I've have Maker's Mark...in the past. Good stuff....Smooth!!
Makers used to be reasonably priced, then the vaginistas in marketing decided:
1. Let’s raise the price.
2. Let’s cut the alcohol content.
The market had a cow about 2. They boosted the price anyway and it has stayed high.
Plain Jim Beam is excellent. It can take the Pepsi challenge with almost anything.
Evan Williams is good too, and very inexpensive. Whiskey and cigars are alike. You can pay through the nose and not get what you paid for in an increase in quality.
Thank
I came up with all kinds of creative responses when asked to stop for another person and be an example.
I pretty much left it at “No one tells me what to do and certainly their life isn’t going to be a proxy on mine”.
I think the big difference between mm and mm46 is the finish. Btw, I pass the distillery every day on my way to work.
A friend was killed in an auto accident. I still drive.
