Former Gov. Jesse Ventura filed suit Monday against HarperCollins, the New York publisher of the book that a federal jury in St. Paul said had defamed him.
In July Ventura won $1.8 million from the estate of Chris Kyle, the late Navy SEAL who wrote the bestselling memoir American Sniper, which included a subchapter about an alleged California bar fight between him and a man he called Scruff Face and later identified as Ventura.
Ventura, who is also a former member of a SEAL unit, successfully argued that the bar fight and disparaging remarks he made against Navy SEALs attributed to him in the book had never occurred.

He’s shaming himself and his family.
Shortly after Ventura was elected governor, because of all the questions it was getting, Naval Special Warfare released a statement that he was a SEAL. They even invited him as a guest speaker to a BUD/S graduation ceremony.
Around the same time, Larry Bailey, head of the group that used to out fake SEALs, released a statement saying he was a SEAL.
He was, until the Chris Kyle situation, a regular at SEAL reunions and was even given an award for representing the SEAL community at one.
If the SEALs say he was a SEAL, that’s what he was.
I thought Ventura had run away to Mexico.
Well. his attorneys convinced a jury and he one. He seems like a jerk.
That's an insult to douche bags everywhere. Jesse Ventura is more like an enema bag.
I hadn't heard that.
Dear Jesse,
This book made zero change in my estimation of you. For many years, I thought you were a pathetic weasel. You lawsuit against Kyle’s widow only cements that estimation.
You need to go back to wrestling.
Sincerely,

Jesse already blew through the millions he stole from his last BS lawsuit?
good one!
Awesome!
Larry Bailey certainly would know.
Larry Bailey certainly would know.
I guess this is Jesse’s retirement plan.
In a radio interview after the book came out, he went over what happened between him and Jesse the crybaby ventura
I dunno if I agree.
If someone wrote that they knocked me out over something I said about the SEALS and it never happened, I’d sue too! Harper Collins made a lot of money from the book and they should have done a better job vetting that particular story.
With that said, I don’t really like Ventura and some of the crap that comes from his mouth. But if the story is untrue, he’s due damages.

I like Jesse Ventura
Thank you, I’ll have a look!
I used to like the song Ventura Highway— I hear JEsse has plans to sue the songwriter for benefitting from the name Ventura. Can’t really call him an amblance chaser but he seems in that class.
