Thank all for the comments so far. I shouldn’t have given such an open ended question. Wont go into any personnel details but do think the military would be a good fit for his life now.

I know recruiters lie, nothing new about that. I also know that part of their job is also to sell less popular MOSs. My nephew is looking at bonuses and I guess that the biggest ones are for the jobs that are the most hard to fill. My biggest question is what not to do. I know to definitively not let him sign anything that the recruiter tells him that they might do once he gets in.

Not only that, but remember this: Until he raises his hand after intake (I can’t remember what the place is called) he can still back out. Not the first time, but the second time. Sorry to be so vague, but I just can’t remember the details.
