It doesn’t sway me, then again, I’m not a 14 year old girl.
He’s a new artist on Atlantic apparently.

This song from Oct 2014 has the line “I Can’t Breathe”. He could go mega any day now. He’s ahead of the trend.

This American is on a smaller label (although in this clip he’s touring Australia).

Doesn’t package for radio (where even country is autotuned these days).

Yeah, pretty meh. I can’t comment further because I’ve already forgotten what it sounded like.
Here’s a newish band that’s pretty good:

Is the link correct? It goes back to a video in your previous post.
Joe Bonamassa, Tab Benoit, Ronnie Earl.
Excellent!
“The Bohicas” is a rather clever name, but i haven’t heard of any of them.
I was recently sharing with a client the sad state of music capture, now that even cd’s are out of fashion. No more cover art, no more album release parties, no more cool collections, no more handing down of music to your kids and grandkids.
I teach guitar, and my students are dying to learn The Beatles, the Stones, Pink Floyd, the Doors, Jimi, Fleetwood mac, etc. They listen to their grandparent’s lps and love the music.
It is possible to lose the entire 2000 song music library on your ipod by ‘synching up” incorrectly.
AND I still do multi-track recording in the back bedroom and make my own cd’s for the kids. they love them.
Voice of The Theater Speakers?
I grew up with those!
Had my brother buy some songs from itunes. Some were available from several different compilations, supposedly same song (same audio clip played in each).
Songs weren’t always the SAME song/version I was expecting (in the preview).
Also, the volume on each was not standardized (some much lounder than others, some didn’t even have great compression).
It isn’t a better mousetrap. It’s just another way to sell Sgt. Pepper’s one more time.
Not doing much for me, I hate to say. Just seems like a hipster with a fake accent, forgettable lyrics, and slightly better than mediocre guitar chops.
You are correct about the uneven sound quality. As i listen to the tracks on my ipod through my car’s stereo system, I can hear the difference between the hundreds of songs I downloaded from my own personal library and the few that I purchased with a gift card that one of my students gave me.
The ones i did myself were better! ;-)
Do you like hard salsa or romantic salsa or do you know the difference?
Another fairly recent good one:

It samples this awesome but apparently little known should-be classic by the beautiful Candi Staton:
