Revelation 5:13 makes a suggestion, though it does not define which creatures are in heaven.

“And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.”

I think creature here is man since they are all speaking praise to the Lamb. Still, good response.

Never heard God refer to his human children as "things".

It’s interesting but that implies that the shrimp in a shrimp cocktail you just ate have souls!
