I’d agree, although we don’t have much choice — even today, the most likely scenario is a large impactor will arrive out of the blue, without advance warning. Hope that it lands on the oceans.
Yeah, landing in a DEEP part of the oceans would give humanity the best shot.... Those living far inland anyway.
