Google manages the design, development, marketing, and support of these devices.... Oh I though they were a 1 trick pony???
Here you go Genius.
“Google Nexus is a line of consumer electronic devices that run the Android operating system. Google manages the design, development, marketing, and support of these devices,....”
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Google_Nexus
Google does manage the development of their “Google branded” devices, but, again, that’s not the same as manufacturing their own devices. There are plenty of “branded” devices for other companies that do the same as Google. IOW, Google is taking what’s already out there, and asking for some little tweaks to differentiate their “brand”, and then slapping the Google brand on them. If you think that’s innovation, then, I’ve got a bridge in Brooklyn I can sell to you, and then you can slap your name on it and call it the “Enlightened Bridge”; it’s going to be the same bridge, but, you can “Gruber” people into believing that you designed it and built it. ;)
BTW, my wife uses the LG G2 smartphone, which is the same as the Nexus phone of last year, except that, the Nexus was built with lowered specs for Google.
