I saw a documentary on air force basic training of a female group. I forget which channel it was on. They sat down the entire training platoon in a classroom to address cliques, manners, sensitivity etc. after a series of sissy fits. Several of the girls were crying at various times in the session, they had a group hug and the training sergeants behaved as concerned mothers instead of drill instructors.
It’s not just the navy.
Well, hey, that’s the Air Scouts. I mean, gosh and golly, they probably do that for the (putatively) male recruits as well.
For what seems to me, albeit from zero military experience, to be a very well thought out approach to actually developing women into combat soldiers. To the extent that might be possible.

Yeah, I don’t remember basic training quite like that either...The warmest thing my TI ever told the squadron was that if anybody woke him up while he was sleeping he would promptly kick their A** and then toss them out the second floor window...
You will get that in the Air Force.
