I seem to remember, way, way back, a long time ago, in the 1970’s that California had a very bad drought.
But back then, no one blamed global warming, we were too worried about the impending ice age.
Well, except for the 100,000 acres that burned not far from my home in Placer County.
I'm not a Californian, so I don't have a feel for the weather there.
I'm sure that - if there should be a lot of snow there this Winter - the howling of the "it's caused by global warming" mantra will reach cacophonous levels.
Winter of 76-77, the famous drought year, all over the west.
Shortest ski season ever. Tahoe had it worse in 77-78; Squaw Valley went bankrupt.
No mention of the world ending.
Build more dams
Oh, wait. That would provide more power, recreation and water for crops. They are trying to kill all those in California.
Never mind, Mr Brown. Let all that water go back to the ocean unimpeded.
People in Shasta, Siskyou and Modoc counties would disagree.
Two days of rain will not end the dought but two weeks of Rain at the end of the month will.
I hope and pray California is blessed with just the right weather at just the right time. Beautiful state. Wonderful people, by and large.
When it rains it pours Morton Salt
Your post made my day! Thanks!
A Californian
