I apologize in advance, but I can only recommend the noble, loyal and highly intelligent German Shepherd, because there is simply no other dog.

They also usually weigh in just over 10 lbs, so should be a perfect fit!

A ten pound Shepard???

Some sort of dwarf?

A micro-shepard?

Remember - dogs are individuals and do not necessarily conform to the breed standard.

My German Shepherd never barks, is usually well-behaved and housebroken.

Of course, generally I would agree. A good Shepherd really is the best dog, period.

And there ARE Shepherds who are genetically defective with dwarfism. So, it could happen....
