My grandparents had a lawn chair like this.

Funny, something so ordinary and insignificant, in the day, can hold such fond memories.

A few months ago, I saw a plate, bowl and coffee cup at Cracker Barrel, that had a pink rose pattern on it. When I was buying them, my 85 year old mom asked why I was buying them. I said Grandma had a set like these. She couldn't believe I remembered them.
Grandma's been gone for over 30 years now and though the dishes aren't hers, they remind me of her.

I was talking with my cousins about a year ago, about some of the things we remembered about grandma and grandpa and their house. We all fondly remember drinking out of there colored metal cups, like these

Lol...My Aunt had these metal cups...I can remember a summers day in 66 and coming in from playing, my Aunt grabbed these colored cups, went to her Wards refrigerator, took out a glass pitcher of cold tap water and poured us all a cup. To this day when I am thirsty and gulp down a glass of water....that memory flashes back.

My Great Grandmother used to use American brand snuff, I believe it was. The jars are drinking glasses at our cabin, Grandmothers home and a few at the parents :-)

We had them too in Australia - everything tasted better and cooler from those metal cups!

My mother passed away almost 5 years ago. She had a set of dishes she had had for over 30 yrs. We went to daughter’s house for Thanksgiving and I saw this set of dishes sitting on the counter. I said....I could swear those are Mom’s dishes. She said...they are... so I had to tell her the funny story about how Mom acquired them. Quite a laugh.
