I remember those when I was a little kid.

There used to be a place in Chicago that had a set up.

I never got to go inside, or even watch through the window :(

I did get my own set when I was a little kid. Probably about 7 years old.

Then, back around 1970, I got one of these.

I had the Backfire, Mustang Boss 302, Spoil Sport and Firebird Trans Am

pop had a set up like this in the basement - about 4 - 4X8 sheet of ply (size wise)- he and his buddy’s had regular tournaments...

I can remember spending a lot of hours racing slot cars on a track like that. I was young enough that I had to stand on a milk crate to get a proper view.

Having kid reflexes gave me a competitive edge and some of the adults took it pretty hard getting beat by a 12 yo kid.
