I'm inclined to agree with you and my hope for a victory on this front now looks at our situation from the "three more minutes" perspective.

No matter how bad something is, I'm going to go one more round before I give up on it. Worst case, I got this far, I can go three more minutes.

We'll just have to wait and see how the battle goes...but the clock will run out for one side or another.
