Exactly. Weren't the Egyptians of Moses time (and before) called the Hyksos? They were reportedly Semitic. There likely were black Pharaohs long before 1,500 B.C. but I believe the Hyksos displaced them and held the reins for a few hundred years after Moses.

The kushite 25th dynasty some 2700 years ago was short lived and included a peoples from lower Nile a bit darker than Egyptians with straight hair and thin lips
