I have a 1994 Olds Cutlass. Runs great - 110,000 miles. If I go over 50, the “Service engine soon” light comes on. Had it checked - no one knows why that happens.

How did they check it?
The code that the light indicates is stored for retrieval.
If it is not retrieved there is nothing to check.
Was the light on when you took it to the shop?

I had an ‘80 Olds Cutlass Brougham that did that when I got over 60.
