A male friend of mine was an actor in the 1980s and he said he would regularly get propositioned by gays “Do this for me and I’ll help you out” kind of stuff. He always refused and eventually got so fed up he quit acting and went back to school. I imagine it’s worse today.
How many stars are “encouraged” to adopt or become single parents, or become power parents like that Jolie-Pitt arrangement?
I used to just think their egos made them want children so they could have cute accessories for the cameras. Then I wondered who *is* watching the kids in that cesspool, and if for some, having children is an unwritten requirement for continued employment.
I considered this a while back after seeing one too many Daily Mail titles about Hollyweird stars and the “cute snaps” of their kids. For what audience? Shudder. E.g. Jessica Simpson’s kids. Creepy.
Odd thing, is that the wife of Alec Baldwin seems to *never* let that baby out of her arms or sight. Wonder why that is? Maybe she realized something after falling into that abyss.
The “casting couch” has been part of the entertainment business throughout its history. Directors, producers, agents, star actors and actresses use their positions of power to prey sexually on the young people who flock to Hollywood, New York, and other centers of the industry seeking fame and fortune. Likely most of the powerful men and women who rule the industry today were exploited at the beginning of their careers. Even if they were not victims or participants, they are all collaborators or enablers because they remain silent and consciously do business with the exploiters.
Most of the power brokers in the entertainment industry are also secular leftists. They are devoid of morals and virtue, yet perceive themselves as morally superior. They worship at the altars of wealth and power and use their wealth and power to make or ruin the people around them. They maintain an alliance with the political power brokers of the left who also use wealth and power for personal gratification and the exploitation or destruction of individuals.
If the allegations are true, Cosby is a sick, depraved and evil person. The outing of Cosby completely destroys his status and power at an advanced age which only serves to tarnish his legacy. It does nothing to change the system.
The female victims of Cosby were likely as afraid, or more, of the power brokers allied with Cosby as they were with Cosby himself. After all, had they come forward at the time of the crime, it was the power brokers who would have declined to give them roles or jobs, not Cosby. They stayed silent to protect their jobs and positions in an exploitive industry whose leaders hypocritically clothe themselves in the cloak of moral superiority.
The outing of Cosby could only occur with the approval of powerful individuals who enabled the depravity and exploitation for decades. The destruction of Cosby is an exercise of power by the power brokers, not a sign that the industry will reform itself. The question is who decided to destroy Cosby and for what purpose? Did Cosby cross someone powerful or is Cosby’s destruction an exercise of power meant to be a warning to others?
Tonight the casting couch is in operation. Cosby may not be on it, but likely those who gave permission for his downfall are enjoying its pleasures whether or not the other participant are sharing in the joy.
