I think that would be the McMartin Preschool case in California in the 1980s.
The little kids, and they were little, were being led by the idiots who were interviewing them. A friend of mine was peripherally involved in this case.
The kids were saying things like that a horse had been killed and buried in the schoolyard. Absolutely wild claims that should have made it clear to everyone involved that they were just indulging their imaginations. This was a travesty, a real case of hysteria like something out of the Salem witch trials.
The kids weren’t at fault, it was a few parents and some very unprofessional investigators. They may have been psychologists although I’m not sure anymore. They certainly wrecked the lives of the people who ran the preschool and from what it looks like without the slightest valid evidence.
